Mid-Sussex Timber is proud to be one of the key timber merchants in the area. As a third generation family business, we have been a staple in the area for nearly 100 years.
Mid-Sussex Timber in East Grinstead
Did you know that the company’s origins are deeply entwined with the town of East Grinstead? There is so much history and heritage for us here. The East Grinstead office was our very first branch, opening alongside the conception of Mid-Sussex Timber in 1929. Although today our Forest Row branch is our headquarters, our East Grinstead branch is the original MST facility.
Here we offer panel cutting, cross cutting and more! Located right next to East Grinstead station, our home is easy to get to, tucked away and peaceful yet still close to the town centre. Our East Grinstead branch is located on Railway Approach.
Once you arrive at our East Grinstead branch, you can visit our neighbours upstairs, Antares Wood Floors. They have an extensive flooring range on show, ready and waiting for your next project.
The newest addition to our East Grinstead hub is Zac’s Shack. Zac’s Shack has recently been through a big change, having its interior floors and outside decking all redone by ourselves and our East Grinstead neighbours Antares Flooring. It was great to get involved with another close business.
We like to think of it as a one-stop-shop for all your timber needs! Onsite parking is available here at the home of Mid-Sussex Timber. Our East Grinstead branch also has an incorporated drive-thru area, meaning picking up your building materials is easier than ever.
Why visit East Grinstead
The town of East Grinstead is capital of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is situated just a stone’s throw from the Ashdown Forest, abundant in wildlife and stunning scenery.
For nearly a decade, East Grinstead has been the northern terminus of the famous and historic Bluebell Railway. Travelling through 11 miles of glorious Sussex countryside, the Bluebell Railway offers a really unique experience.
East Grinstead is also the home to the longest run of Tudor architecture in England, which suits us very well given they’re timber-framed! Sackville house was built around 1520, it was rescued in 1919 and taken on by Visit East Grinstead in 1995.
